Community Monday

Helena Committee for Shakespeare in the Parks

Monday, April 29th

The Helena Committee for Shakespeare in the Parks is a group of local folks dedicated to live performance of theater, especially the unique outdoor performances of the plays of Shakespeare. Our specific activity is to promote and support the visit each year of the acting company of the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP). Each summer they present two outdoor performances in the park adjacent to the library. Typically there is an audience of 500 to 600 adults and children. We help to publicize the event, but our main responsibility is to raise approximately $4000 each year to pay the sponsorship fee for the visit of the company. No admission is charged for the event. The sponsorship fee is covered entirely by our fund-raising activitie
