The Blackfoot Belgian Dubbel is an Abbey ale brewed with traditional Belgian ingredients to create a rich, true-to-style Belgian beer. The Dubbel Ale is a deep amber color with a light tan head. As with most Belgian beers, this beer is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain and at higher temperatures to promote the formation of fruity esters. These yeast esters add flavors and aromas of apricots, plums and dried fruits. Dark candy sugar added to the boil gives a distinct toffee and raisin flavor and aroma. The slightly higher carbonation helps balance the full body and malty flavor to create a smooth finish.
